Pyrolysis technology of oil sludge: the pyrolysis process is a new, environementally harmless treatment method  for oil sludge The reaction conditions are relatively high, which is based on the high-temperature pyrolysis method The oily sludge is heated to 400-600ºC in an anaerobic or anoxic environment After pyrolysis and separation, it is used as a supplementary energy source

The sludge drying process: This reduces the quantity of waste that needs to be treated and ensures the stability of the pyrolysis process Since the sludge has flammable  components such as hydrogen and phenol, it has higher safety requirements  To handlt the fact that oil sludge has too high a viscosity for standard the drying process, which makes it difficult to dehydrate and generates a poor consistency product, Jinling, together with Sinopec and Changzhou University, innovated and developed the core technology and equipment that is capable of drying this type of sludge.  

The drying system independently developed by Jinling was successfully approved  in 2013 and was certified as internationally advanced technology.

Oil sludge conditioning and separation system

Because the surface of oily sludge particles adsorb the same kind of electric charge and repel each other, and they are fully emulsified, it is extremely difficult to destabilize and separate oil, water, and sludge from each other It is necessary to add conditioning agents to separate the crude oil from solid particles. concentrating the oil droplets, and allowing the added chemical agents with the solid waste to settle and further separate into oil, water, and solid residue
For different oily sludge, it is necessary to determine the optimized flocculant, demulsifier type, and centrifuge operating parameters This type of treatment method has a wide range of applications for the de-oiling and dehydration of crude oil in oilfields, tank bottom sludge, or colloidal sludge (water content>99%) produced during the treatment of oily sewage in oilfields This process is simple to operate and has a high recycling rate of waste oil, where the oil removal rate can reach over 80%.

Conditioning mechanism:
1. Demulsification mechanism
After the demulsifier is added, the two-phase interface diffuses because the interfacial activity of the demulsifier is higher than the interfacial activity of the film-forming substance in the emulsion. It can be adsorbed on the phase interface, and the original interfacial film is formed with the original film-forming substance. The low strength mixed membrane causes the destruction of the oil-water interface membrane and releases the water in the membrane. The water droplets coalesce and settle to the bottom. The oil, water, and sludge are separated to cause demulsification
2 .Flocculation mechanism
Because of its long molecular chain and high molecular weight, an organic flocculant can adsorb and demulsify viscous ones, and separate oil from the surface of solid particles. Suitable electrolytes can increase the charge density of the system, making them preferentially adsorb on the surface of ions instead of oil components, and make the particles more dispersed, changing the microstructure of oily sludge particles, overcoming hydration and electrical repulsion, and help oil from the surface desorb from solid particles
3. Separation mechanism
A dedicated two-phase or three-phase separator is used to directly separate the sludge after the chemical conditioning treatment. The separated crude oil and wastewater are recycled, and the low oil content sludge (and moisture content ≤ 60) is fed into subsequent systems for further treatment.

The system consists of a sealed feeder,specialized sludge dryer, sealed discharger,exhaust treatment system, etc. The system ensures safe operation and control by controlling combustible components, temperature, pressure, and oxygen.It is applicable for sludge containing oil and other organic solvents.
